Your life as it is today is the sum of your habits, your behaviours and your rituals. Your health, your finances, happiness and your success are all direct results of your habits.

The rituals you repeatedly engage in ultimately shape ‘who’ you are and the results you achieve. Whatever you do repeatedly forms the life you’re living. It probably won’t shock you to find out that some of your rituals, habits and behaviours are not serving you.

Rather than focusing on ‘breaking’ the ‘bad habits’ it is time to gradually practice a wide variety of good habits, new behaviours and positive rituals. Believe it or not these little changes will transform your life entirely.

To develop good habits, you need to gradually replace the behaviours that do not serve you with rituals that will enhance your journey. These new behaviours & rituals need to be repeated until they become a new habit.

Here are 5 success rituals you can implement immediately. All of these daily habits are simple but exceptionally powerful.

1. Wake up early.

Waking up early is the key to time management. If you think about this; if you wake up 1 hour earlier 365 days of the year, you will score yourself an extra 15 days a year! Isn’t that incredible? It is also vital for peak performance to ensure you get enough sleep, you might notice a great difference in your energy and focus if you shift from being a night owl to a morning person.

2. Have an Attitude of Gratitude.

Practicing gratitude is one of the most effective habits to living a more content and rewarding life. If you are able to be appreciative for even the ‘little things’ in your life, you can break free of the endless pursuit to have more. You will find greater joy and significance in what you do have. Science also shows that the feeling of gratitude can even have a positive effect on the cells in your body- pretty cool hey!


3. Become a reader.

Something that most extremely successful entrepreneurs and influential people have in common is their great passion for reading. In the words of Dr Seuss “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

4. Set goals (again)

We have been speaking a LOT about goals lately because they are the ability to set goals is one of the most powerful success tools you can have. If you do not set goals and establish a clear path, you’re not likely to reach your destination. S.M.A.R.T.I.E.S (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Tangible, Inspirational, Emotional & Successful) goals. Give you a clear direction and provide the necessary focus to overcome obstacles on your road to success. The great power of goals can be best utilised by writing your goals down. Also make it a ritual to review or adjust your goals daily.

5. Be true to your values.

Live your life in accordance with your highest beliefs and values (or your unifying principles). Have the courage to say ‘NO’ to opportunities that do not align with your values. At times you may find it challenging to be congruent at all time, however you will almost always know and regret when you are sacrificing your principles. Live with integrity and be true to your word.
